Small Business Events: Per Small Business Resources, African-Americans are 50 percent more likely to start their own businesses than white workers. A Junior Achievement poll of students 13 to 18 found that 86 percent of black teenagers want to be entrepreneurs, compared to 69 percent of white teens surveyed. Economic development in the 21st century is about stakeholders collaborating to spark and nurture the entrepreneurial spirit in low income communities in Indianapolis by being deliberate about creating training, mentoring, and networking opportunities for aspiring and current entrepreneurs.

Young Entrepreneur Business Expo: The Young Entrepreneurs Business Expo is a two day event designed to engage and spark the entrepreneurial spirit within 7th – 12th grade students in Marion County.  The business expo and conference will educate students on how owning a business can be a viable path to employment, generating wealth and success. The event will highlight business opportunities within urban Indianapolis and provide start up education.
